Most of my youth was spent in either Nebraska, or Colorado where I earned my Bachelors of Arts in English at the Metropolitan State College of Denver. While I was there I enjoyed teaching a beginning and intermediate Shakespearian Literature class for three semesters. I have a Paralegal Certification from the Professional Career Development Institute of Norcross, Georgia.

I have gained valuable experience in business by working as a customer service representative at First Federal Bank, and by working as Office Manager for a National Orthotics and Prosthetics Company. I also spent a considerable amount of time in the law field interning for, and working as a receptionist/legal secretary for several law firms in the criminal, personal injury, and corporate law fields.

I was lucky enough to spend seven years at home raising my children before heading back into the workforce, where I have been happily working as a Legal Assistant for the Law Offices of John G. Powell, LLC since November of 2006.

As a volunteer I have helped create a Non Profit Organization, Parents as Partners, of which I am acting President, and have spent numerous hours with the Denver Chapter of the Big Sisters program.

My spare time is spent with family, gardening, camping, sewing and raising specialty breeds of chickens.
