AARON LADD

I moved to Denver to start Law School at the University of Denver Sturm College of Law in 2006. I instantly fell in love with Colorado while I immersed myself in my legal studies, even earning the Scholastic Excellence Award for the highest grade in my family law class. In May 2007, I was hired by the Law Offices of John G. Powell, LLC as a law clerk and began working full time in addition to my studies, gaining invaluable experience and constantly improving the quality of my work.

Before coming to Colorado, I clerked for Beier Howlett, P.C., a medium-sized business law firm in Troy, Michigan outside of Detroit. My experience there as a law clerk gave me a context for greater understanding of my legal studies and the issues and opportunities our clients face at the Law Offices of John G. Powell.

I earned a B.A. from Miami University in Oxford, OH, graduating with distinction in geography in 2005. While at Miami I worked at the University Outdoor Pursuit Center as a trip coordinator and staff-manager, leading my peers on adventures in the great outdoors each weekend and training staff members to do the same. This experience gave me my first insight to the many challenges of running a small business - challenges in marketing, finding trustworthy and reliable employees, managing risk and liability, and accounting for the costs of running a business.

Now, in the rare instance when I am not at work and school, I love to run. I ran both the Denver and Disney World Marathons this year and I am looking forward to two more marathons this year. I also love to hike, ski, fly-fish and explore our beautiful state.
